When I did the first cut outs, the feet stuck in the cutter and I thought, oh crap, maybe I had you put the lines too close. After a bit of experimenting, I could get them to release intact if I cut all the mice before lifting any of the bottom of the dough away from the wax paper I roll it between. That helped the dough to stick to the wax paper rather than in the cutter. If I cut one, lifted it to put it on the tray, and went back to cut another, the bond that helped it stick to the wax paper was broken, and it was more likely to stick in the feet of the cutter.
Roll out the dough between 2 pieces of plastic wrap to about 1/8" thick. Then refrigerate. When cold, cut out with cookie cutter and lift off of the plastic wrap.
Try dipping the cutter in flour before each cut. Or spray with Pam first. If all else fails, try a stiff dough like gingerbread. Make sure to slightly wiggle the cutter after the cut, before you lift it up.
